Question 02 GT tune up suggestions? exhaust install too

Looking to tune up my 02 GT this weekend while visiting my mom in SA. Any recommendations (or what to avoid) on what to swap and what brands? I really don't know much about teh modular engines. Throw my brother's Impala in front of me and it's all good. Thanks!

plugs
wires
dunno what else...

Might even tackle installing my Mac catted h-pipe and CB, via jack stands. Any suggestions there (besides take it somewhere. )?

fuel filter and plugs...thats all you should need. well, you dont need plugs, but cant hurt

we dont have plug wires...

cat back you will need a sawzaw to cut the stock one...h pipe is kind of a pain without a lift, just make sure you have some long extensions for the front bolts

Nighthawk said it all. CB, you need a good cutting tool. Mid pipe you need alot of extensions, a swivel and deep sockets. No plug wires, the plugs you could do, but its a pain in the arse. Not to mention there is a lack of threads in the head and if its not done right, your plugs can blast out.

I have 36.5k miles, C.

so, I'm looking at:
-plugs (PITA)
-radiator flush
-probably oil change
-h-pipe (PITA. buncha swivels)
-CB (sawzaw)

On the stock CB, I had Flows welded in. Do you think that since it came, Flows welded in, then mounted back up that I wouldn't need to cut it? I guess I can find out when I pull it.

Thanks for the info (and any future info).

you will still need a sawzaw to cut the exhaust off.

fuel filter... and i dont know if they are the same style fuel line connections but youll need soem little plastic clipy things to remove the fuel line, found at any autozone. and dont forget to depressurize the system...

guess i need to do some more reading on the mod motor..

Don't even bother flushing your coolant. It's a waste of time and money. I wouldn't worry about that until I've put about 100,000 miles on the car. Just do plugs and fuel filter if you want.

Look at your owner's manual and use that as a guideline on what is needed. Is it automatic trans?I'd consider a trans flush if it is.I wouldn't waste my time on plugs yet.Too low of miles.:2thumbup:

yeah, it's an auto. i wanna flush the tranny and go synthetic soon.

i think i need to get the timing bumped bacuase it's running a little ragged. i wanted to swap the plugs to make sure it's running optimal as I'll FINALLY be getting my TwEECer installed and tuned as soon as I get my new exhaust installed.

I don't know about you, but 36k miles on my plugs and my car runs like shit. I change mine once a year but once every 2 years should be fine too. And I don't think you need to worry about the tranny until atleast 50k miles.

In other words, everyones going to have different opinions so just do what you think you should:flush:

my plugs were toast at 36k... as for coolant, i was always told every 1-2years/ 30- 50k miles just to help prvent build up and future problems. You dotn necisarrily need a "flush" a simple drain and filll would suffice for the mileage. I thought the additives in the coolant also broke down like oil over time, the additives are what protect the cooling components. Expecially since that is one of the more important systems on the car.
