based on the different views of recommendations/comments, maybe the poster should state more specifically that he's looking for in it.
-DD-able an issue? -mostly 1320s? -plans on motor upgrades on the GT and MACH to support a power adder? -rearend upgrades on GT, MACH, and Cobra? stock rearend on the GT and MACH will handle some power but not serious power. -appearance, limited production numbers, etc come in to play? less MACHs out there; Cobras are numbered limited edition; lots of GTs out there. |

the seats do suck(cobra). too high and close to the steering wheel, but the stock Eaton setup seems to be very reliable for a dd, but I've never driven one for more than a week at a time. +1 for truebluevenom's suggestion about being more specific.

1. Cobra don't look like every other Mustang ~ that's insane
2. The blower only makes the DD more fun. 3. Mach wheels are kinda ugly. 4. Seats are easily replaced 5. Great base for mods ~ Forged shortblock/blower= more boost!!! 6. Minus the crank you get a shitty S/B and a TR3560 ~ Crap 7. Machs look more like a GT! 8. have I pissed anybody off yet..... ![]() |

You will never get this

In all reality, I would go with the cheaper one all around, including the car + mods. I mean both of the cars are bada$$ but im not made of money.

i think over all, you'll be happier w/ a blown cobra.. they're not THAT expensive anymore.. w/ the price difference, you may be able to get a gt up to tha tpower, but how reliable will it be?

Cobras are unmistakable........from the front and the rear. With the Mach 1 the only difference in the rear is a black spoiler and a small emblem... Don't get me wrong dude I love the Mach 1, but if I had the choice and money wasn't an issue I'd be on the Terminator Cobra like white on rice on a paper plate in a snow storm.......my 2 cents...... the wheel goes round
|
Wheels are easier to replace than seats, so IMO these cancel each other out!
I figure, with everything I plan on doing with my car, I will have much less than $24k in it, including buying the car. I'll also have 450+ hp, a forged motor, and a built live axle. It started out a GT, but it'll end up a total mutt!

irs ? hate to tell you but if you put the p-arts in right a irs is just as good as the solid axle..for anythign shoirt of a 100 percent dedicated drag racer that runs 700 + rwhp
the irs actualy will hoook better on a radial / street tire as it loads the tires more eveny. check out the mm@ff street sticki shootout ... the ONLY car that survived without rear end breakage ... a ten second flat 03 cobra with irs. I blew my differentiaol carrier apart in my car guess what i have in it now ... a 03 cobra traction lock its the strongest true street stylpe limied slip unit you can get due to the huge cross pin and cabron fiber clutch pack.

I would have to agree that the Mach 1 looks similar to a GT stock!
As for a GT having the Cobra bumpers/spoilers/badges. A GT can also be made to look similar to a Mach 1. Here are a couple of pics of a guy that I know from another site who lives in Ohio who owns a GT that he made to look like a Mach 1 with the shaker hood and all! SO what I am trying to say is in the end ANY mustang can be made to look like ANY other mustang you want it to look like. PERIOD! If you have the time/money to do so it can be what ever you want it to be. With that being said back on topic...I still say go with the 03/04 Cobra! ![]() ![]() ![]()
