05+ window defects

I am not sure if yall know this so I thought I would put it out there. My window tint is all scratched up horizontally. I took it to Bluebonnet and they said it was a known problem because for used hard pastic rollers inside the felt liner for the window slide. They are replacing the slides and my tint under warranty.

Thants good info that they fix it, Jordan refused to fix mine about a year ago. I finally got tired of dealing with them and just did it myself. After seeing the profesional work under my car when they replaced the transmission (scrated the trans tunnel all up), I will not have a them work on my car again.

That and my warranty is now voided anyway

Yep, they own or use a little upgrade store there so they are doing it.

ius not a defect its a design

the 05 does not come with tint and its not the manufactures job to worry about wether or not the window design will scratch tint.

it just is how that car is designed the window frame and lack of felt scratches tint.

not much you can do about it.

I disagree 10000000000%

Ford, or any car company should take into consideration that the buyer will tint the windows. The service tech at bluebonnet ford told me it was a known issue so they have a fix in stock for it and are going to replace mine and retint my windows under warranty. Therefore you are incorrect!

Well,I reckon Ford and Chevy should put forged pistons in all the Mustangs
and Camaros because everyone will put a s/c or turbo on them.

I am 100 percent correct BLUEBONNET is warantying your tint because THEY applied it ford aint doing jack about it nor would they.

its not the factorys problem to waranty any aftermarket item you add to your car TINT included.

there is a moleskin mod that is cheap and easy to do. it's been on TMS for a long time now. I myself did not see it in time and my windows have the vertical scratches like many others...

Actually the windows do come with factory tint... It even says it on the window if you read the fine print

Then why did the replace the runners inside my window? I stated they admitted it was a design fuckup, they have the new parts in stock and replace them with as customers come in. So not only did I get new tint under warranty, I got the new rollers or slides inside my window?

So now how correct are you? Or do you own Ford or know what Ford is doing in Dearborn?

factory tint IS NOT aftermaket tint and you know it via that wink ..
when they say factory tinted windows on the sticker it refers to the eybrow on the frotn window and the slight darkening of the side rear windows WICH IS BUILT IN TO THE GLASS not a aftermarket tint film

Because THEY DO NOT want to have to replace your tint again BLUEBONNET paid for your repair peirod .. ford is not on the hook for scratched window tint ..

now that said ford may or may not have come up with a revised roller that is easier on tint but it 100 percent is not because they would be liable for fixxing YOUR AFTERMARKET ITEM YOU ADDED TO YOUR CAR..

simple as that the tints not a ford part there for ford is in no way liable for it.

Last time ill say it bluebonnet paid for your repair not ford because bluebonnet had the tint put on the car ...

It is a design flaw no matter how to try and spin it. You can't honestly sit here and say that Ford did not take into consideration that people might tint their windows. Hell, it's a rare site to see any type of vehicle without window tint now. Even Suzy soccermom gets the windows tinted on the minivan.

This is funny...

Anyhow, Congrats Dan on getting your tint taken care of. My 05 tint was scratched within days. The 07's has a few scratches on it, but not as bad as the 05 had.

weather you like it or not ford is not required to design around you wanting tint any more then they woudl be required to put forged pistons in so you can add a supercharger.

your opinion on the mater is just that opinion but its not a design flaw that a factory part doesnt work with a non factory acessorie.
