I guess you can try to fab something up, I can tell you from running straight pipes ( almost....It's actually an off-road H with SLP Loudmouths, which are just resonated tips ) it's ungodly loud.

Sound good? Sure does, some of the time...Other its nearly unbearable.

I mounted the oem H again this morning and will keep it that way until I can find suitable axle-backs or maybe do a different set up with headers and high-flow cats or something.

I know a lot of people say they don't like the sound, but there just wasn't any room under there for Ford to run a system in front of the rear axle like the pre '05s....

I hear someone is working on a set up, but I don't recall who....

Im not sure I understand the reasoning as to why you want to eliminate one of your mufflers. It stands to reason that by doing this you will create more restriction in the flow, which is not good. Out of all the 05+ that I have heard, the best sounding is a PYRES mid pipe and Bassani catback. The SLP's even sound pretty good.

all 87+ mustangs have 2 mufflers

only difference in 05+ is the mufflers are placed at the rear. There are some properties of sound to overcome when designing this. ford did their best to maintain a deep bellowy sound.

Just put a carback on there and you will be happy. No flowmasters. Bassani or the ford racing one sounds great.
