1978 Mercury Monarch, 302 V8 NEW PRICE $1200
My Grandmother bought this car New from North Park Licoln Mercury in '78. From what she has told me, it was a test car for some Lincoln Parts. She had to bring it in every 6 months for the first 3 years for them to pull parts and replace them. Then send the parts they pulled off to be tested.
The car had not been driven since 2000. And that year it was only driven down to get the inspection and the tags renewed. Since then it has sat in her garage. From 1990 - 2000 it was only driven about once a year, if that. I've drained the gas tank and replaced a few pieces of fuel line. I've also installed a new battery, ignition module, coil, and distributor. The tires on it were also just put on, they pobably have about 10 miles on them. I've driven the car around the neighborhood to make sure everything is cool and it runs great, shifts fine, and stops like it should. 1978 Mercury Monarch 2 dr, 302 V8 2bbl The odometer reads 25,740. This i when the odometer quit working. Based on what my grandmother and my father have told me the car probably has about 75k on it. This car was not driven much at all even when my grandmother was still diving. A lot of times she would take my grandfathers car. Power Rack & pinion steering from a Lincoln. This thing is so easy to turn you have to be careful no to go too far. Power front disc brakes Air Conditioning - The last time it worked was in 2000 when it was last driven. If charged up it will PROBABLY work. The blower motor works great & the heater also works fine. Manual Windows & Door locks C4 Automatic transmission The paint is in OK shape and she was setting stuf on the car while in the garage. Has some scratches and it's showing age, but it's not completely bad. I went over it twice with some New Finish to shine it up a bit. The interior looks brand new. Not a tear anywhere, no cracks in the dash, and the vinyl seats show almost no creases at all. The $1750 is obo. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'll give any info I have on this car. OMG a Merc Monarch!!!! My first car was a 78 Monarch 4 door with the straight 6, with the AM radio and all!
Damn things are built like tanks! Good luck selling and thanks for the trip down memory lane. B
