    1984 Coupe Blown 32V

Well I figured I would post up this lil thread being as I am almost doe with the car now.
This is my 84 Coupe I got from BHAM about a year ago. I bought it, and built a motor for it and sprayed the piss out of it, all the while riding around in the A/C. I sold it in May, and just bought it back as a roller last month. Ended up getting a hell of a deal on a SN95 Cobra and did a complete swap, also added a 00 dash. Here arte some pics of it along the way.

    The beginning.

A week after I got it.

    Put it on some Faleens

The day I got it back. It was exactly the same minus motor/tranny and the wheels.

    Puttin in work!

Nice pile of parts between mine and my cuz's ls1 swapped fox

    Safe and sound

01 Cobra, and the 84 Coupra

Day 2 of fitting the dash

How it is now, almost there.

Most of the dash parts and console were just thrown in for the pics. Still need to mess with it more.

Dash looks good but how do you open the doors from the inside? It looks like the dash covers the handles

As the pic says DAY 2! I was pretty hardcore, but well woth it as even people who don't know cars will comment on the dash looking different or "newer style".

The dash did cover them as I left it long so the defrosters will still be usable when I go to hook all that back up. Nothing that my port-a-band couldn't deal with though.

LMAO Yeah thanks for looking out, but I am a lil car smart! Appreciate the help! This motor is a 97 as seen by the intake, and coil packs. The 99,01 are the c series head, and intake with the COPs. You know like in my 01 Cobra! lol

do you happen to know the b/s and offset of the rims do they rub exhaust or inner fender love the coupe does the a/c heat work vents on the new dash and all that match up? And i take it you gotta use or swap every harness from the donor car from back to front or how does that work?

I didn't get the b/s off those wheels but they were made for a 99-04, and they rubbed on all 4 corners! The front rubbed due to it having the newer bodystyle a arms on it which are inch wider. The rear rubbed due to it having a new edge rear under it. It would only rub on the fender lip onto the top of the tire. I have my exhaust dumped before the rear so I didn't have any issue with that.
I believe you can make the new dash work with the old ac box, I haven't go around to hooking any of that up just yet. I was going to leave the 84 box under the dash and just have custom lines made up, but now I will probably swap in the 01 box out of my Cobra when I swap ion the dash.

As for the harness I used the complete wiring from front to back on this car. You can combine the 2 and re do the column to use the newer switch, but I was swapping dashes anyway so I just did it all. Works out better/easier/cheaper, and all the factory gauge still worked when I still used the Cobra gauges.

Also I now have some dragstars on the car and the street setup is a set of 18in Saleens.

These pics are with a SN95 rear and 5.5bs on a 10 inch wheel. I am ordering a new set of fox length axles, and some 6.5 bs rims.

It's going to get painted either red again or Comp Orange with Gray trim. This is actually my g/fs car. She always wanted me to try to get it back after I sold it, and when I did find it she paid for the car body, but then I found the deal for the Cobra swap, and the project snowballed! Now she gets pissed everytime I take off in it cause she knows I treat this poor car.

A lil sneak peak. Cars going in some moth balls for a lil while so I can save to do it the way I want the first time. Should be done before it gets cold.

This is just the mock up of how the kit is. I very seriously doubt I will use it like this as it is not made for a turbo as large as mine. I plan on mounting it with the inlet facing the front somewhere between the inside passenger headlight, and the middle of the grill. Not too sure yet, need to finish the front suspension before I start cutting up the piping.
