    2000 red v6 stang upgrades

I just got a 00' bright red v6 mustang w/out a spoiler and am trying to get some ideas for it. I had bought it as is and fixed everything that needed fixing and bought new bumpers and just got a new paint job. Everything on it is still stock.

Leave it stock. your going to have to sink a lot of money into it to even be as fast as a stock gt. Use that as your daily driver and buy a fox project or something.

It still does pretty decent speed wise. This is the first car I've bought. It's got atleast some minor upgrades due. Usual stuff like a new wiper cowl, that cover on the rear trunk tail-light, tint, et al. Maybe some stripes on the sides.

I wish I could make it stick but for the amount of money it will cost I don't think it would be worth it.

first off, you dont need a gt to have fun with a mustang, pour as much money as you want into that car. a good first couple of mods to look at are cold air intake and exhaust

ram air intake, custom made bumper ram
air system, short throw shifter with UPR
reaper pistol grip shift knob 3.73 gears
with posi, wheels from 01 mustang,
firehawk indy 500 RWL tires, 1 inch
    wheel spacers in back, bbk
    underdrive pulley kit, spoiler

Complete waste of money. A CAI is a worthless mod. If your serious about modding it, go with a superchaget. Thats the only way your going to make any power out of it. Those v6s are pigs unless you dump money into it.

I want to improve it without costing a fortune. I don't really know that much about cars. I'll check out a supercharger kit and the CAI. I am planning on switching out the exhaust-I have either paint dust or overspray on my tailpipe. So far I don't recommend Earl Scheib (In SA anyway). They marked on paper to take off some little dents when I told them to take off a large crease on the rt rear fender....They're supposed to take out my dent they fucked up on and respray the whole car....wasn't impressed-bubbles in the paint, a few small globs of paint, didn't spray the part of the bumper that the trunk covers, needs a second coat over the rear bumper, and some poor taping. I guess I'll have to wait till they fix it to see if I'll ever go there again.

with bolt ons, you wont do anything but waste your moneywith your car. even on my year GT, bolt ons are not worth the money they cost. The only way your going to be happy with the money spent is if you either add nitrous or a blower/turbo.

    just real talk.

You get what you pay for EARL SCHEIB is the bottom end the cheapest way to go but you can get a whole car painted under $1,000, A REAL paint job will run +$10,000... But your budget does not allow for that so you cant complain about the job they did... On a side note I agree with Cody the CAI wont benefit you it will do more with looks to show yor friends but performance its worthless on this if thats all your doing save the $200... Keep the car drive it and save up for a GT or buy a Fox Body to have your " speed "

    GOOD LUCK!!!

You don't have to dump a lot of money into a V6 to have a fun every day driver that gets 28mpg.
Total, including purchase of my car, I have less than $2500 in the car.
I have plans for more later, but when it is all said and done, I'll still have less money in my car than most V8 guys.
