yeah there are these tabs or whatever on the side of the seats towards the top. Pull them out and they come down. I had this problem but I finally realized that the tabs are pushed back into the cracks on the side. Put your hand in there and see if you cant get it out. if you need me too ill go take a picture of it and post it.

they are like, little fabric loops on the edge of the back of the seat, you have to give them a pretty good tug. I haven't replaced my radio...I think thatDavidKid replaced one, you might try pming him...

Thanks guys i found them finally. I thought the release was in the truck like all my other cars have been. Also was able to get the radio out. It took like 2 days but i found some more screws that contected the face plate to the A/C controls so i didnt even have to unhook them. Now if i can figure out how to do the door and deck speakers ill have myself a nice system

door speakers wont be too hard... but if the deck speakers are anything like i think they are, good luck.. all the rear interior pieces and the back seat will have to come out

yeah i might just take the deck speakers to circuit city or something. i dont know why they dont just mount them below the truck, oh wait that would be TOOOOOOO easy for FORD to do it. do you know a site where i can get the speaker wire kit. i had to pay 30 bux for the head unit one and hope i can find the speaker ones on the internet since its not that big of a rush to get the speakers in since i have to wait for the ipod hook up and the part so i can fit the 6.5s i bought to fit the 6x8 spot. Also just changing out the receiver made so big of a difference i can wait

wow i wish i was there.. yea the head unit one is nice.. but i never use the speaker ones.. i always just chop off the connectors with about 3 inches of wire left on the plug ... that way it can be re-connected if it's ever needed...
and the mounting plates for the 6 1/2s' can be made of 1/4 inch mdf.. had some in my mazda 3...

How do you connect them with out the connector, sorry if its a dumb question but this is my first time with car audio and im doing it by just reading the ford service manuals which dont help to much. Every other time would just take it to Best buy or somewhere and pay a arm and a leg. I found a pair of speaker adaptors on ebay for like 8 bux should be here with in a couple of days.
