    2008 Pony Package V6

Since I have started down the dark path of spending unnecessary money on my baby, I figured I would start a "money pit" thread for her.

I bought my 2008 V6 Pony Package Stang to be basic transportation with a sporty look. After doing some research and spending time driving it, I really enjoy it and have discovered that with some mods, it can reach my goal of 275-300 rwhp. Shes dark candy apple red (paint code JV), automatic, and to date all mods are cosmetic.

First thing I did was remove the factory rocker stripes which cleaned her up quite a bit by itself

Next came the addition of a DG Custom Auto hood scoop, shorty antenna, SHR Honeycomb panel and sequential tail lights

Recently I took her to Darren (88GT) to have the stripes painted on.

Then yesterday I added a CDC Chin Spoiler

And lastly, my Trunk Monkey security upgrade

    Future mods hopefully include:

    3.73's
    Trac Loc
    SHR Quarter Window louvers
3dCarbon Lower Rear skirt for Dual Exhaust
    Dual Exhaust
    Lowering Springs
Wheels and Tires (undecided on style)
    Xcharger or Vortech (unsure)
    CAI and Tune

Hey mannice choice of vehicle! I have an 08 4.0 as well. I think I was the only s197 six on here with bandit till you came along. Jeff aka Bandit has the vortech I'm pretty sure. But as far as the gears and tloc you may be better off just getting the 8.8 rer end off of a gt andbuy the 03-04 cbr flange for like 20-30 bucks and have a more sturdy rear. A quick and easy mod is a cai and tune. Also a short throw shifter will make your car drive like nothing else! Just a few ideas. Any questions about my car feel free to ask!

    Not really......
I have an 08 V6, Pony Package, 5 Speed, Dark Candy Apple, and have been on this site since day one back in 1999. Had a 97 V6 prior to that.

I am a member there, lots of good info for the 4.0. Bandit told me about it. I know its semi frowned upon having a 6er here, but I have had my supercharged v8 and it was fun, but Im just looking for the 275-300 rwhp number now and It can be reached with the 4.0.

Very nice! Sweet lookin' car you have there ...

And don't fret - not all of the V8s are horsepower-monsters. You'll surpass my HP if you even attain your lower goal ... LOL!

    I love your Trunk Monkey!

Just ordered my dual exhaust set up today. Its the Pypes kit with the X pipe and GT take off mufflers. This is my first "performance" mod for the stang. Decided on this set up because of after weeks or reading exhaust threads and listening to sound clips, this is the one combo that for sure wont drone and has a decent sound and the price was good. should be here Friday and on the car soon after.

Yeah, Im looking forward to see where I can go with this experiment. It seems to be a pretty solid platform from what I have learned so far.

Got my new wheels and tires on today, think it adds a nice touch to the car. I know its none of the wheels I posted in my "help me choose my wheels thread" but I like that it stays with the classic theme of the car.

Wheels are 18x9 OE Replica Buiiltt's with Bridgestone Potenza 255/45/18. Also painted the calipers black with the G2 paint system. Didnt want to go with a bright color and highlight my wimpy factory calipers. Anyone thinking of painting thier calipers, I highly recommend the G2 paint. Very nice.

Just ordered my vogtland leveling springs today. Should lower car 1" in front and 1.25 in rear. Should be on soon.
