2600RPM Blow off blues...

I recently got my car back from Murillos, went in for a boost upgrade and intercooler. Its making 14 pounds of boost and 459hp. At about 2600rpms the car studders and chokes. Murillios is telling me that I will need to relocate the blow off valve and have something custom fabbed. Has anyone else run into a problem like this? Will a bigger blow off valve help?

I would say you would have to log/trouble shoot what exactly is going on. We had a 99 cobra we did a custome FMIC upgrade w piping from a non intercooled vortech system. We had a similar problem and relocated the maf from the suction to the boosted side. You dont want to vent off metered air that has passed thru the maf allready. Big no no! Unless you have a speed density setup never vent off metered air.

First off you didnt say is this a vortech a procharger a paxton etc

also is it liquid or air to air

is it just at 2600 rpm while cruising ? or when you get on and off of it ..

mass air backwash could be the issue this would show up as low and eratic mass air voltage readings at that area and or a short period of eractic acting after a high rpm shift when the most air is dumped.

sounds like MAF backwash or too small of a bypass.
give us more info on your setup.

Also is it a blow through setup or a draw through setup?

Vortech V2-sq trim vortech air to water aftercooler. Its fine when you are steadily going thru the gears, its only when your just barely on the gas.
