how much do you guy think a complete 289 engine should sale for ?

They sale short blocks for about $2500.

and old one pulled out of, depends on condition, but if in good shape probaly around $500 for a complete block. with heads, carb, etc.

Long Block, used, was running - should run about $2 per CID ... just as a quick rule of thumb.
Short Block, used, was running -- $1 per CID.

i'm not sure if you're searching for a year-correct 289, but 302s can be had for dirt cheap. what car needs the motor?

i have a complete drive train runs perfect less then 1500 miles on the motor and the trany from my 66 302 c-4 2 barel with tri y headers ill sell the whole thing for 1000 bucks

complete even with alternator and distributor and the starter just run a fuel line transmission coolant lones and power wiring to it and its ready to go.
