289 what size...
I have a 289 with a 2bb carb , long tubes.h to flows(stock afterthat stuff).. I have Edelbrock Performer intake(2121) with matching Edelbrock Performer camshaft/lifters (2122) , These are still in the box and I am looking to get Performer carb to match the set up. My question is what size cfm should I get with this set up?
I know people are going to say why not go with the RPM set or something like that, but I have a 347forged shortblock that I am building up and with that engine I will go bigger and better. Right now I have these parts setting in the garage and was thinking that I should throw them on and when I sale the 289 engine I will let them go with the engine... So long story short what CFM would be good , 500,600,650???? Also with the cam will i need to change the push rods?roller rockers?? thanks

600 vacuum secondary will be more than enough.
Dont be suprised to see your gas mileage get better than the 2 bbl ONCE you get over putting your foot in it after the swap.

+1 600 vacuum sec.
I had one on my 289, worked great. Mine had the Carter name on it, but it was the same as the Edelbrock. I had the manual choke, so if I pulled the cable out about 1/4" it would block the secondaries from opening at all. This helped mileage.

+1 on the pushrods.. get hardened ones.. only like 40 bucks at local machine shops that sell that stuff.. and as far as rockers, you dont have to, but roller rockers never hurt anything.. i'd get some if you have the extra cash for it. i dont know anything about carbs except that edelbrocks confuse the crap out of me but then again it's been about 5 years since i've seen one, and i knew even less then..
