Yeah, the 4.6's were made at either the Windsor or the Romeo plants. The W motors have an 8-bolt crank, the R's have a 6-bolt. I picked up a '97 Thunderbird with a blown motor to give to my mom for Christmas (after fixing the motor, of course) but after running a few tests we determined that it had head damage as well as a cracked piston, so I figured it would be easier/cheaper to replace the entire motor than rebuild it all.
