331 or 347 ??

just getting a heads up on what i want to do with my stang in the future, this car will be driven everyday and proabbly a few times a month at the track...no street racing!!! so i would be better off going with a 331 or a 347?

so the question is 331 or 347 and why? i can both kits for nearly the same price...

thanks guys

I am a fan of 331's. You don't have problems with the oil control rings like you do with the 347, but a 347 has more cubes so could make a little more power with the same setup. I say go with the 331.

like they say...there is no replacement for displacement...but i'm not sure i would have either for a daily driver. I would go with a built 306 with a power adder....angel is running 8's on a 306...with a HUGE power adder...but you get my point

331.Plus if I'm not mistaken the block doesn't have to be clearanced. So that means less machine work.

i would take just 351 over a 331

you need a few parts for the swap
headers
distributor
balancer
351 lower intake
accessory bracket
notch the batterry tray
extend the rubber hose on the fuel rail (simple)
oil pan
longer serpentine belt of course
crank pulley spacer 30$

thast mostly it.

but you are getting a stronger block with a much longer life and better rod ratio than a big 302 stroker.

fitting undder the stock hood is dependent on which intake and whether you use dropped motormounts

www.coasthigh.com
check out their 351 and 351 stroker shortblocks

I have a 347 with 6k miles on it with no problems. I guess it just depends who builds it, mine was built by Livernoise.
