A dumped exhaust is when there is no tail pipes beond the mufflers. Basically there is a short pipe (6-10") on the outlet of the muffler. Usually the pipe has a downturn to direct the exhaust to the ground. I don't really know of any advantage other than is is much loader in the cabin of the car because the exhaust noise is directly under the car. Probably less back pressure.
