I am gess the car is a '79 to '82 car, possibly an early '83. They came with SRODs from the factory. If that is what is in the car, you should only need to replace the trans with shifter, bellhousing and possibly the cross member. Look for a later world class T5 from a 5.0. Some people will try to sell you a T5 out of a 4 cylinder or V6 car, the imput shaft is not correct. They will fit in the car but the front end of the imput shaft that goes into the pilot bearing is smaller than an 8 cylinder trans and they are also weaker.

85 sonic blue coupe with 302 bored and stroked to 364, Ported Twisted Wedge heads and a BXR intake, A9M ECM with a Tweecer, C4 with trans brake, 275/60/15 M/T drag radials, no power adders.

Or you can install a Tremec 3550 using the factory bellhousing but you will need a double hump cross member if the factory one is still in there .

Going to a T5 is probably a little cheaper and better suited for a daily driver thats mostly stock .
