And what will the tuner be turning off? I'd really like to see that trick....

It shouldn't throw a code. There's no sensor measure how much crankcase pressure is being put back into the intake right? On my 5.0 I remember after I'd run it hard and look in the tb you could see the oil mist that was sprayed back into the intake from all the pressure. Is that what you're trying to avoid. You can always make a filter for that.

So you're saying that removing the PCV hose will throw a code and a tuner will need to turn off the check engine light?

Is this a joke? Seriously, are you pulling my leg?

I have no problems taking advice from someone knowledgable on a subject but it's clear that you have no clue what you're talking about in this thread. I wouldn't suggest for anyone to take your advice on this subject.

Im going to agree with.................

Hmbre97. There is no sensor there that will detect anything. It feed's air/oil back into the intake track. It's just to relieve pressure hence the name PCV(positive crankcase VENTilation).

Most put breather filters there so no oil goes back into the intake system. JLT makes one for a whopping 50 bux.

It will not throw any sensors or codes. I dare ya to pull it off and put a breather filter there and see if it throws any codes.

thanks all for the info... reason i started this thread was i test drove a 2003 white mach in north texas. It only had about 63k miles and bone stock. It had a clean/clear car fax with two owners. As I turned on the mach you could destinctively hear a knock/rattle right after you cranked it. Sound came from the passenger side engine bay. As I rev'd it to about 4K rpm, the rattle/knock could be heard again. Took it out for a spin and i was... yeah there definitely something wrong because the mach wouldn't pull worth a shit for being a 5 speed. I then noticed the PCV from the induction to the valve cover missing and the sales man obviously didn't know squat about it. I'm pretty sure whoever buys this mach will be opening a can of beans.... and by the way no check engine was present on the mach. I took an obd scanner to pull codes and found all diagnostics to be in "ready" status

I wanna say that the cause for no power was that deal right there not being plugged and causing the car to have a bad vacuum leak. I wonder how much difference it would have sounded and ran if it had the deal that belonged there.
