401 HP is all I'm askin!

All I want is 401HP without SC or turbo but I can't see how it can be done unless someone starts pimping a decent intake...a really decent intake. Tune, CAI, UD pulley, exhaust still only gets around 320 or so.

Am I wrong?

BTW, thats 401 all the time. NOS shots don't count! LOL!

Yeah...You may be right. I have not done ANY research on heads or cams. Anyone have some good info links?

Heads don't scare me from a pricing standpoint but heads, injectors, valves, springs, retainers, gaskets, keepers, installation, etc., do especially if they start to get close to a Kenne Bell setup.

Almost impossible with h/c/i swap to get more than 120 horses like Jody said also. Our mustangs don't get huge #'s like our GM counter parts due with the h/c/i swaps.

Sooooo...the question that begs to be asked...What is the best bang for the buck? NA upgrades or SC/Turbo? Without the NA data I suspect that SC is the way to go.

What say you?

^^ how you know ma name^^

With full exhaust, pulleys, a good tune, and cai.. you can net about 300 to the ground. With H/C/I combo, you can add about 40 -60 more depending on the combo itself, but 400 + from a N/A mod 3V motor, forget that.
The problem it not displacement, it's the stroke and bore that kill these engines, even the 2 and 4V engines. Mine only makes about 330 to the ground and that is with every bolt on made for the 2V. I even have 11.6:1 c/r and that still ain't enough to break 350 to the ground. At the crank it may make 360-365 ish on my set up.

Could be....

E-bay was my best friend during my build and still is. But then again, so was every classified ad having to do with mustang forums and parts. I made well over $8k in selling alone and prolly bought well over $3k to make that $8k and counting. I just sold an additional $420 this past week again and now I am swapping mufflers again.

I just dumped that "free" money into my build (took me a year to do) but now it runs like a raped ape, and untuned at that.

Ahh...The old buy low and sell high scheme! LOL! That was a very good reminder that there are other ways to build that "fund". Thanks!

Now I wonder if momma is going to miss the microwave!?
