Well, from the quick history lesson I got ... the '86 was
well out-performed by the '85s that were carburated.
Now there are options to mod it, but the first year of FI is not an easy choice. Check out some books on it, before getting yourself signed up for a project you may end up not having fun with ...
The next model year was better .... or two years later -- whenever they did the MASS air thing.
