In Tuesday's car ads there was an 08 F150 with the following-5.4, air, auto, cruise & a towing package for $17,988.I have been seriously thinking about getting a bigger truck so as to haul my
car to the different car shows in other states. My current truck is an
07 Ford XL with a V6. Anyway, I called the dealership and spoke to the
sales manager. He told me that he had 2 trucks on the lot in that price with
the above mentioned accessories & large 5.4 engine. I told him that I would
arrive at his store in 30 minutes with my truck title and $$ to do a deal. I
also told him that I was not in the mood for any games....he assured me that
the trucks would be there for my chosing. I arrived and guess what!!! No
truck, he came out and apologized and said that there was a mix up but he would
take care of the matter...he then tried to sell me a 4.6 with out a towing
package for 2 grand more. I told him he had
24 hours to find me a truck that he advertised. Now I'm wondering just what
process do I need to go through. I'm pretty sure I caught the guy in the
bait & switch routine. I know that he will not follow through with his "word"
on the truck.
I do want to make sure that this is not a standard operation for this
dealership.
What are your recommendations? By the way, it was Westway Ford, in Irving.
I've been told by a friend that they are not reputable.
If your still looking for a deal on a new ford, pm some of the guys at 5star on dfwstangs. I got hooked up pretty good by skip, but not sure who is still there.
