The 8.8" rearend swap.

1. Put the back of the car up on jackstands. place them on the frame
2. Take off driveshaft and slide it into the transmission a little bit. leave it in there.
3. Take off your wheels/brakes components.
4. Loosen the upper control arms, lower control arms, and shocks from the axle.
Now work one side at a time. Place floor jack under the pumpkin and raise slightly so you have not as much tension on those bolts. It really makes life easy to have 2 people doing this.
5. Take out the shock bolt. Then lower control arm bolt and upper control arm bolts. Tie the springs up here if you need to.
6. Repeat for the other side.
7. The axle should lower on the floor jack now.

Slide out the old and in with the new. Everything goes in the exact same spot on the 8.8.

1. Place the pumpkin of your new 8.8 on the floor jack and slide under and up in your car.
2. Reconnect the upper and lower control arms on both sides.
3. Reconnect the shock on one side, the axle will probally have to be pulled back in order to get the other shock back on. I have found an easy way to do this. Get a ratchet strap and place arround the axle(somewhere inbetween the pumpkin and brakes) and hook the other 2 ends up to somewhere else under the car. Make sure they are safe spots, not on anything plastic is a good rule of thumb. use the ratchet part of the ratchet strap to bring the axle towards the shock that needs to be connected. Then connect it and take the ratchet strap off.
4. Tighten everything down. I can get you a torque specs if you want them, i used the good-n-tight torque method.
5. Lower the floor jack from underneath the pumpkin.
6. Put the driveshaft on.
7. Put on brake components/wheels and you are good to go.

i told u it was easy
