They only make an effort to calibrate it when it's reading wrong in the consumers favor. I filled up my Tiburon one time at a place on the southside and the pump calibration was messed up. My tank was pretty much empty (low fuel light was on), I filled it up completely and the pump only read 4.5 gallons. That was a good day. It took 4 days before they realized the pump was reading wrong.

I had another instance where i filled up a 5 gallon gas can and the pump said I put 9 gallons in it.
