these are all important things to take into account when deciding how you should be claimed.


For example, when i made 6500 in college, I could claim myself and pay no taxes, or pay my tiny amount of taxes, 50 or 200 ish.

If you claim yourself, you mother would miss out on an 8k tax deduction. If she is in a 25 percent tax bracket, thats a 2k dollar tax savings that she could have gotten, just so you could get 600.
what he said - I never claimed myself in college 'cause it was worth way more to my parents to claim me.
