when you lower the car, it is compressed too low and the piston doesnt have as far to travel. It is more cpomplex than that, but many lowering springs will blow out your stock struts

Just the fact that he's not going with such a radical drop is even more reason to use stock replacement shocks. I've got the KYB shocks for my model year car, not the fox style, and it's fine. I also had stock struts before that with no problems. So why would he need fox style with less drop???
