I'm not THAT good, but you can hear and feel once it gets to that point where it doesn't really pull anymore kind of... get what I mean? Where that gear gets out of it's powerband I guess... when it gets close to that point I shift. I DO look at the gauge, but only when I'm going WOT and don't wanna redline. Someone else will probably say it's totally wrong, but if it's DD, I don't see the point. You said you go to the track... I haven't yet.
