If you are going to put a 351 in the car instead of a 302, I would want something that would run faster than 12s. It is easy to get a 302 into the 12s or even 11s on motor, a 351 car should run at least low 11s, I would want at least 10s. I had a friend who used a Comp conversion roller cam that had very close to the same duration and lobe centers as a E cam, but a lot more lift. That engine woud run out of steam past 5400 rpm. It ran 12.80s most of the time and I think a few 12.60s. The combo you put together should run in the 13s. Also you are right about the carb, if you have stock heads and an E cam you would be better off with a 650 carb.

I agree with
Sonic Blue 85 on the cam and plugs used in your motor. Ditch the Bosch plugs and get the Autolite AR series plugs (they have proven to produce more HP than an NGK on the Dyno) and they last. I'd get a stage two or three TFS cam to throw in that 351 and set the compression to 10.2:1. You would be extremely happy with a setup like that... especially if you stroked it to a 408.
First manor of order though, change those plugs soon!!!
