this is how it reads on the IRS site for those like me, married with two children...
6) Married couple with two children, AGI is $80,000, federal income tax liability before child tax credit exceeds $1,200.
Rebate is $1,200
Qualifying child credit is $600
TOTAL is $1,800
we did more than the AGI in this example, but it is less than the 150,000 which is where the "phaseout reduction" starts.
here's the link:
Economic Stimulus Payments Information Center
go to Stimulus Payment Scenarios toward the middle of the page and it will give you some idea of how they figuring these rebates.

Me and my ex filed jointly for school purposes, and all the rest of that still doesn't make sense to me. And we dont have any kids, if that helps. Dont get me wrong, Im happy I got the $300, I was just expecting the $600 we were all promised!

How sweet of them! Too bad the IRS will never clearly explain shit!!
Edit: OH YEAH! On "Wheres My Stimulus Check" deal that was posted, it said that me and my ex got $600 each, so Im a little ticked off because of that as well.
