During normal (granny) driving, my C4 shifts at about 1200-1400rpm, or if I want my glasspacks to sound off, at around 2800rpm. It's been known to shift as low as 1100rpm though, allowing me to cruise at ~900 in top gear. Handy for the school zones (which here is practically anything inside the loop...)

Seriously, though, if I had a manual tranny, I'd shift at about the same RPM as the C4 does; it starts to build its torque right off idle and a similarly built 4-speed '66 with 289 I drove was able to run from ~950rpm without lugging. It technically doesn't have a redline, though power drops off so fast after 4300rpm that it wouldn't make sense to push it past that. An upshift there would put it right in the meat of the power again, too.
