Caged 1983 T-top GT roller

Wow, it breaks my heart to do this... I've owned this car since I was 18 (1990) but it's taking up too much room and I have too many projects so it needs to go.

It's a 1983 T-top GT with 86 GT bumpers and trim. I completely disassembled the car for chassis and paint work, and ended up having to go get it from the paint shop partially finished. The body work was completed, and the main body of the car, roll bar and hood were painted dark shadow gray (DSG) but the bumpers and hatch haven't been painted.

Here are the details:

Body/Chassis: 83 Gt with T-tops. Originally red/red, now DSG and black. Has 86 GT bumpers and trim. I had a nice 100% custom cage put in with low door bars to ease entry (it was going to be a fun do-it-all street car, not a drag racer, so the door bars wouldn't get you through NHRA tech.) I had wanted it to stiffen up the chassis since the t-top cars are really flimsy. The cage ties in the rear shock towers, upper control arm mounts and goes through to the subframe connectors, so it's really rigid! The rockers and stock rear crossmember were boxed together as well to tie the main hoop into the "frame" instead of just sheetmetal too. It has a nice new Cervini cowl hood (Cost me $500 + truck freight!) It has stock suspension and 7.5" rear w/ 3.73 gears. The t-top seals are new, but the passenger side fit and finish isn't very good, so I'd recommend getting another one from a vendor other than 5.0 resto. (The driver's side is awesome, just like OEM, but the passenger side isn't, and they were no help in making it right.) The body work is top-notch, but like I said, the paint was incomplete. Will come with nice ten hole wheels, not the steel ones pictured.

Interior: (Currently removed except for dash) The red and black dash is still in place, but the rest of the interior is now black. It has nice black rear plastic (quarters and rear trim) and nice black door panels. (All original black, not dyed.) It also has a complete new interior screw kit from 5.0 resto. ($$$) No seats. The cage interferes with the rear seat, so I was just going to carpet that area. The cage was designed to fit around Corbeau CR1s without any interference, I can't say what else would fit, but the CR1 shoulders are pretty wide, so anything should fit. I still have the red 83 seats if you want them. (Not terrible, but nothing special either.)

Drivetrain: None.

The following pictures are from various phases during its construction. It is currently mocked up with the hood and bumpers, and I don't have any pics of the painted cage. I'll try and get some pics of it as it currently sits tomorrow.

Below you can see how the cage is tied into the control arm mounts and subframes (driver's side bar isn't in place yet in the pic, but it is now) Also, you can see how the rockers and stock crossmember were boxed and tied together and the cage is mounted to that instead of just the floor sheetmetal. The bend in the door bar is triangulated too to prevent it from buckling there if it ever tried to.

$1800.
