5.0 Explorer Intake Questions

I just bought an Explorer intake. What are the different types of Explorer intakes and which are the best? Also, does anyone have pics of the top and underside of one? The one I bought has a broken vacuum tube, and I need to see what it's supposed to look like. Thanks a bunch.

any 01 and prior 5.0 will work

I have seen the exlorer uer outerform a gt40 and cobra on the dyno WHEN THEY ALL USED A GT40 LOWER.

The stock explorer lower is tiny. If yyou can get your hands on a ported gt40 lower, you haev a otent combo for a street HC combo. it would probably be cheaest to call tmoss and get a orted gt40 lower. See stangnet.com for his contact

the explorer out does the tubular and cobra intakes by about 5cfm, really not that much differance at all. they are pretty much the same....if you got it for a good price put it on! and the lowers are identical..with the exception for where the sensors go...i think the explorer is missing a sensor for the water temp? if i recall it is a blank boss where the cobra has one tapped and drilled

Sorry If i misread your post, but not all of the explorer lowers are as opened up as the gt40 lower.

+1 for ported gt40 lower with exlorer upper
