67 engine swap?

looking at a 67 coupe and it has a 289ci engine , will a 5.0 engine bolt right in or do I have to have fab work done?

The 5.0 will drop right in place of the 289 . The balance is different and the later engines use a rear sump pan so you will need to use the 289 pan and timing chain cover since it has the hole in it for the dip stick .

you also need different trany mounts to use any of the stock 5.0 transmissions .. however if you plan on useing your trany you will be fine.

You will need to run either latemodel Dampner/Flywheel or early model Dampner/Flywheel sine one is 50oz counter balance and one is 28oz they dont play well together

just use a 289 oil pan.. like was said before all you have to do is the 289 oil pan and timing cover... and make sure you use the right ballancer and flywheel combo.. my friend had a 302/c4 in his 66 w/ NO problems...

No such thing as a K member kit for the early models. They do have setups that you can convert to a mustang 2 type suspension but that is welded in.

far better off useing the mustang 2 weld in front suspension .. fixes all the geometry problems and is far beefier and cheaper plus you get disc brakes with it.

The only down side to the mustang II stuff is that it increases the roll center because it moves the motor higher in the body than the original suspension. On the other hand you get the benefit of unequal length control arms which improves your steering ackerman... there are always pro's and con's to each design, anything is better than the old stock stuff that was designed for 15in wheels and bias-ply tires.
