95 5.0 h or x pipe

have a 95 5.0 looking at doing exhaust soon and not sure what mid pipe h or x, and what mufflers are louder the 40 or 50 series flows?

i have a bassani x on my 94 with 40 series. i like...alot. it has drone at 2k rpm on the inside, but with the 373s im usually at 2250rpm and its really quiet.

what sound are you looking for?

sickest exhaust? Bassani BX catback with x pipe or pro chamber

dont forget about the prochamber

quieter would be magnaflow/ borla

Mac/ spintech both sound sick and are loud. i have spintechs and its great.

as far as loudness MAC/ spintech/ bassani are loud while still having a great exhaust sound. any glasspack muffler on a stockish 5.0 does not sound good i.e. magnapack/ slp loudmouth 1 or 2 (power flow should be good) borla stingers. they will be quiet at idle, very loud elsewhere and you will get a blaaaattt sound with lots of crackle and pop

i am not a fan of flowmasters and dont want to sound like every other mustang.

borla will make the most power. most other mufflers will be within 3 hp of eachother. its area under the curve where some how the borla reigns supreme.

Thanks for the info, I ended up buying a mac o/r h-pipe and mac catback, will see what it sounds like when it comes in?

borla xs mufflers are some of the quietest "good" mufflers there are
