    A/c Problem

    so my a/c stopped working a while back i tried to add some freon but it didnt take it so i left it alone then two days ago i took it to get checked the guy told me that all it needed was freon so i bought some cans and put it in it started to work again but then today out of no where it stopped working... anyone have any idea what it is? i know it still has freon because wen i push the valve some freon comes out and it wont take anymore

    if it's low on freon to begin with, it has a leak... you need to have the leak fixed before you add any more... ac work is best left to professionals...

    When you say it won't "take any more freon", I hope you are using a guage set (and checking operating pressures against ambient air temps) otherwise you can make more problems for yourself.

    If you have a leak and freon is exiting the system, that means air is also getting in. When you don't fix the leak and vacuum the system down to remove the air and water in the lines you create unstable pressures for the compressor to work in. And, the water in their will create Ford's infamous "black death", look it up...it corodes the system meaning a small relatively cheap leak to fix can turn into a bunch of expensive parts getting replaced.

    Not plugging my shop, lol, but if you bring the car by I can get you an estimate to get it done right. At the very least, get a couple of estimates to verify what your first mechanic said.
