I dont believe there is one. I think it serves the same purpose as the side scoops now a days just looks. The hood scoops dont do anything either unless its like the mach hood scoop

one benefit of some of those that actually have "holes" in them is it gives another area for heat to escape...i dont think the ones that came on stock stangs had the actual "holes" though, so you would have to get like a Saleen or something like that..

the only stock hoods that have that are the saleen heat extractor hood and the 03-04 cobra hood

werd, then look for one of those if you want it to do anything for you man, they are a bit more that finding a take off, but look better too IMO
