Advice on Slicks

I've got an 87 hatchback with 270 Hp at the back wheels. The car has 3.77 gears and Nitto drag radials. The car needs more traction at the dragstrip and I want to put a set of slicks on for racing. Any advice on what size, compound, etc.?

26x8.5x15 MT et drag....these are probably the best for your current power.

If you are planning on adding more power soon, I'd probably go with the 26x10x15 et drag.

also a 26x11.5 et street will work good, but not as good as the et drag.

With that combo I'd go with a 26/10 ET drag or 26/11.5 ET Street. Around 9-11 air presure and a 5,500 rpm launch.

I agree with nighthawk, i just cut a 1.710 60' on m/t 26x8.5-15's about 12 psi, 4500 launch, that was also my quickest run ever
