After you've washed your car, how do you dry it..??

I just read a thread on another forum consisting mainly of people who drive an SVT product, and there was a guy who asked " What do you use to dry your car with that won't scratch the paint? "

I immediately though " I use an Absorber, and it works great, plus it's quick! "

Well, apparently I'm drying my car halfway incorrectly.

I was honestly kinda shocked when 95% of the responses were " I use a leaf-blower to dry my car. The less you touch the clear coat, the better off you are. "

I was really surprised at the responses.. all the "+1's" to using a leaf-blower to dry your car.. some of these people have done it for years.

Apparently, that's THE technique if you want to keep your paint immaculate.

Personally, I think that's a little.. "much".. but eh..

Anyone here ever try it?

iv actualy thought about how much easier to dry it would be with compressed air but, never thought a shammy would hurt the paint? they are super soft. well i guess i screwed my paint up? lol good post dave

Compressed air is preferred but unless its a show car a chamoise is perfect for a daily.

Spot free rinse and after that, turtle wax with 100% cotton shirts and damn! she looks good. Fuck using a leaf blower, your blowing dust and little particles everywhere onto the paint, you defeat the purpose. just my .02 cents
nothing like a good old hand wax

I've heard about the leaf blower but have never tried it, I use the Absorber and follow up with a good micro fiber towel. I had a black 04 and never had any problems using that method.

We have used a leaf blower to dry all our cars for a while now. We do also have an absorber (towel) too. The first time I saw the hubby doing it I was like WTF?? LOL! But, the end results were nice so I liked it. It is just nice because it gets alot of the water off that the towel may not be able to get to, like between the lights and the bumpers, stuff like that. We usually only do that when we are going to be in a car show though, other wise we just spray the cars off and drive them where ever we are going and then just use a detailing spray and micro fiber to wipe them down when we are to our final destination.
