I know if you do a search for FR500 steering wheel, you can find an install article which tells you how to remove the airbag in order to replace the steering wheel. I know that will have what you need, and then a little extra. I'm also pretty sure if you just search for airbag installation/removal on that year range of car, you should find something. Hope this helps.

Pretty simple, disconnect the battery, let it sit for about 10 minutes to be sure all modules power down, remove the 2 plastic cover caps on the side of the steering wheel cover, remove the 2 8mm bolts, pull the driver air bag out, unplug it and reinstall is the reverse.
Passenger side, remove the glove box, should be 2 or 4 10mm or 8mm nuts, remove then (2 on the top 2 on the bottom) and slide it out, disconnect the connector, install is the reverse. Connect battery, turn key on, (I always move to the side just in case of deployment, although has never happened) and watch the air bag light come on and the go off. If no problems found, no light. For what it is worth, I have replaced air bags w/o disconnecting the battery on several vehicles with no problems, but then again, I am a trained professional and I do all my own stunts. ![]()

I'm going to be removing my airbag to replace my steering wheel with the FR500 in the next couple of weeks, and I just thought about it today... Isn't there just an air bag fuse you can remove rather than disconnecting the battery? I know it's safest to just cut all power, but just curious...

For what it is worth, I do not disconnect the battery or pull fuses to r&r air bags.
And even by pulling a fuse, which in cars now a days, there are several, it is defeating the purpose, thanks to modules being connected to modules that will still power the system. By disconnecting the battery and waiting 10 minutes (as suggested in Ford manuals) it gives time for ALL modules to power down and be safe for removal.

Lots of things, sensors, clock springs, air bag monitor, grounds, fuses, short, low voltage, resistance, wrong fuse... get the idea??
