I was being stupid, because i wanted to learn the hard way that with what i was going to end up spending on a stock cam,i can convert to mass air. I finally got all the instructions that i need. And i'm going to do this so i can learn. I'm sure that it is going to be very fun, especially after it all said and done.....Any other advise would greatly be appreciated....

Got one in a car right now we just installed at the shop, swing on by to hear it bro... Also we installed a B-cam in a speed density car a week or so ago and it ran awesome with no idle issues which is what your initial worries were.

Both of them cars sounded sweet, but the TF cam has a better sound IMO.
I totally forgot the blue car was gone... ![]()

It will sound good???? WTF? What kind of power is the car making? Good grief, it sounds good...again with the letter cams. My car sounds good and it makes over 300 at the rear wheels and I don't have a B cam. Switch to mass air and get a cam from Ed Curtis, Buddy Rawls, Jay Allen, Comp, Crane, etc. Call someone who knows what you need and can get you a cam that will maximize your combo. No offense to anyone but go to the guys that know and do this for a living.

Just about the only thing Ed Curtis, Buddy Rawls, and Jay Allen do for a living is desing and make custom camshafts. That is what I was trying to get across. I don't have anything against you personally so don't take the post that way. Off the shelf cams are just that...off the shelf and do a good job. A custom cam will typically net you more power and if on the off chance it won't these guys won't waste your time or money. The other point I was making is for people to do some research and educate themselves about how camshafts work and that the motor basically revolves around the camshaft. It is what brings the whole combo together and is the "brains" of the operation. Again, no offense was intended as I have read threads on this site and you typically provide good information and sound advice.

I know what cams do and don't do as well as combonations with supporting mods. As far as the cam working or not, for his application it will, he does not need someting so drastic that he will not get the full potential from a letter cam or not. Joe also comes by the shop often, so we know his set up. And I do not take offense, I bull shit like the best of them do, as you already know, but my knowledge is just that I guess, knowledge, nothing more.

Cool. I reread my comments and I can see where I may have come off strong and all but that was not my intent. Sometimes people just spout off a part to put on an engine and they have no real knowledge of the setup or the person. Guess I can take some of my own advice there
Glad you are looking out for your customers as there are some shops that don't care about anything but the $$$.Darren

not meaning to hijack but i didnt think that letter cams would work practically with speed density because of idle problems and such caused by the lsa > than 114. wat does it take to get one workin on an sd car then?
