American Iron at TWS this weekend

Hey guys, NASA (road racing) American Iron will be at Texas World Speedway this weekend. I plan on going to watch the mustangs, camaros and vipers compete at road racing. If you wanna go let me know--I plan to be there Saturday. I think spectators are $5. Heres some more info.

It will be a damn good time, I think I will be able to make it out there on Saturday but wont know for sure until Friday. Here is some more specific info. on the weekends activities.


REGISTRATION, CHECK-IN, FACILITY ACCESS at Texas World Speedway April 2-4, 2004:
Friday: *Gates open at 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM at TWS
*Set-up your paddock space/Drop off your vehicle - $15.00 - pay to TWS at the gate
*Registration at Manor House Inn – 4:00 PM -10:00 PM.
ATTENTION PARTICIPANTS:
Request: Please Check-in/Register on Friday evening.
Why: Helps us to serve you more efficiently. Avoid Saturday Morning Rush.
Saturday & Sunday - SPECTATORS WELCOMED - GATE FEE:
*Each Driver - three guests are free.
*Children 12 and under are free.
*All others: $5 for a one-day pass and $10 for a two-day pass.
*Please be aware that all that enter the facility must sign a waiver.
*List of registered drivers will be at the gate with three spaces next to your name. Please
tell your guest to just say you name and they will get in free (up to first three of your
guest).
*Armbands will be issued to all that enter.
*All drivers will need to check in with registration.
*Please be prepared to show the armband each time you enter the gate.

GARAGES AVAILABLE for $25.00:
For all pre-registered drivers, the gate will have garage assignments. If you have not pre-registered, garage space might still be available, check with registration.


Groups and Required Identification on Cars (On both doors or sides; In addition, competition students must have an R on the rear of the car).
Please note, if you do not see a group for your type of vehicle, please contact us to discuss. NASA Texas strives to accommodate all participants and provide you a home. Example, open wheel cars, please contact us, we will work with you. Also, what a great weekend for some inexpensive track time for testing. Tentative Schedule

Group 1 Spec Miata – (Number and Class designation – SM)
Group 2 Closed Wheel A – Texas SRX7’s, HC, BG, Legends, Thunder Roadster, Test/Practice in
a car that would normally fit in one of these classes, but driver is not completely legal for
class or just wants to get some track time in racing sessions)
(Number and Class designation – SRX7, BG, LS, LM, LP, TR, or TP)
Group 3 Intro DE (number only)
Group 4 Advanced DE (Number only), Race Craft (Number only) and
Competition Licensing (Number and Class designation with a Red R)
Group 5 Closed Wheel B (Number and Class designation – AI, AIX, CMC,VVC1, VVC2,
VVC3, SUO, FFR, PC, PS0, PS1, PS2, PS3, SUU, GTI, PR, or TP)
Additional Car Classifications:, Sports Racers (SR) and all Open Wheel Cars: depending on number of entries, a group 6 might be added or you could be added to group 2 or group 5. Please contact NASA Texas directly. NASA Texas strives to create events that are fun and safe for everybody. Ensuring that classes and number of participants are matched properly in their run groups is an important component to making the event great for all. SCHEDULE at Texas World Speedway April 3-4, 2004
The times given are only guidelines. This schedule does not include classroom sessions, but these will be a part of the NASA Texas events. Many factors contribute to an event being behind or ahead of the scheduled time. It is vital that participants manage their own time by being aware of the groups that are running and listening to announcements and grid calls. THIS CAN CHANGE DEPENDING ON LAST MINUTE ENTRIES.

Note for classroom sessions: Any time that Group 3&4 are not scheduled for a track session, they might be scheduled for a classroom session, a break, observation time (on a corner), touring the facility and the behind the scene functions of putting on a race or meeting with their mentor.

10:05-10:20 Group 1 Spec Miata Qualification
10:30-10:45 Group 2 Closed Wheel A Qualification (SRX7, BG, LS, LM, LP, TR, or TP)
10:55-11:40 Group 3 & 4 Intro DE, Advanced DE, Race Craft and Competition Licensing
11:50-12:05 Group 5 Closed Wheel B Qualification (AI, AIX, CMC,VVC1, VVC2, VVC3, SUO, FFR,
PC, PS0, PS1, PS2, PS3, SUU, GTI, PR, or TP)
12:05-12:55 PM LUNCH
12:55-1:25 Group 1 Spec Miata Race 1

Time & Location TBA FREE FOOD, TEA and BEER SOCIAL for all the entrants and officials.
