Went to start the car a few minutes ago, and it will start, idle for maybe a second and then die, i keep giving it gas but it wont stay on. Kept starting and reving it until the temperature was warm but no luck. With it being a cammed car, i didnt know if it is a tune issue (was tuned by HPP 2 years ago). It used to just start right up no issues, but within the last week its been sometimes not starting immediately. Throw some ideas my way..
i had a similer problem i would start it and it would backfire and die then start it again and would run fine (similer but not ur prob exactly) but C.E.L would be on. said cam shaft position sensor was bad... replaced it and still did the same thing. long story short it was the alt cuz the diodes were open. had it rebuilt and no probs since hope this provides some help.
I'm having my camshaft sensor being replaced right now...grr
I've had this problem with my wife's car last year and it was the same thing. The cam sensor had gone out and the car died on her. We got it started and she drove it home with no problem, but when she tried to start it again, it wouldn't run for very long. It seemed as if every 2 cycles of turning the ignition on would leave us with poor running condition if it even started at all.
Fortunately, the parts aren't ridiculously expensive. No other check engine lights or codes?
