I'm coverting a 67 fastback to mustang 2 suspension so a s/c DOHC 4.6 will fit and I was wondering what wheel will fit in the front....17x8 or a 17x9 :blkvnm:

I have seen 17x8's fit on the 65-68's w/o problems.

depends on how low the car is going to sit. You may want to stick with 17X8 up front, reason being the wider the tire, the more rolling mass you have to push, which slows the car down.
9" is too wide in my opinion for the front. Ok in the back. You may have to modify your fender wheel well for clearance.

yes ive got a 66 and yes i have done 3 cars now, i may be 19 but ask me some questions anyways cause i bet i can answer them... and yes those are 17 inch bullitts with 13 inch cobra discs behind them... dont ask, i got bored...heh jk i built this one from the ground up, 5.0 roller with a 5 speed behind it (although its currently got no gears left from some spirited shifting) working on an 8.8 for the rear. let me know if you want be to build you something and ill give it a whirl. i should have my cage built and in next week since it isnt running...

Very nice. :jeff:
Could you explain the suspension/brake combo that you used to get it there?

suspension currently as follows: shelby drop + 620 coils + poly urethane... basically old school road racer feel, also has a 1.25 inch sway bar and rolled fenders. i am going to start working on some tubular upper and lower arms soon, along with either a 3 or 4 link rear suspension. seeing as my tranny is out i cant drive it so i am going to do the fabrication i had planned and interior, maybe some new paint cause that job sux... also has 5 leaf gt springs in rear about 1/2 inch lower than stock... also pm me if you want some brake brackets made to your original spindle i can make another pair but i wont do very many... too many legality issues, thats why i didnt start making them in the first place, and thus others copyed and started machining... look around and you will find them making them out of aluminum these are steel and take my punishment ( when i drive it my buds 02 trans am cant keep it in the corners with me ) so im sure they can take yours. any ideas where i can find some new bullitt or mach 1 seats for this beast ?

I think you have to order them direct from American Racing to get the right backspacing and they are only avalable in the Torqu II or something....it was wayyyyy to expensive if I remember correctly...yea deep dish looks realy good, I have a set of 18x10 dd bullitts(rear) for my other 03 cobra, I can't wait to finish that project....
