Mechanical Engineering was my major but I got kind of burnt out with school, mostly the science and math, I was not very far and decided to go more of a vocational route with something that I am much more interested in - Automotive Technician, well OK "mechanic". I'm sure it doesn't pay as well but I believe that you must be happy in what you do and if I wasn't happy at the begining, ie. inorganic Chemistry 2 and Calculus 2 then I know I wouldn't be happy when it did start to get tough in the next couple of semester's plus I'm ready to get a real job. My Dad has a Bachelors in Civil Engin. from North Carolina State Univ. and he has two masters degrees, one in Business Managmt. and one in some kind of Military feild, he worked for the Navy for 23 years and now works for Boeing and makes quite a bit of money, he believes that his engineering degree has opened allot of doors for him. He will be working for Boeing in San Ant. when we move. Redrum, just stick with it and I'm sure it'll pay off. Ken

John,
my outfit has been converted to an 'engineering outfit'. as in, from now on only engineering majors can join us as freshmen. we have this thing called a Quiz File that keeps old tests and notes that will soon fill with ENGR stuff that i can access for you. you'll probably see a bunch of fish in your classes, and may be ours! |

Civil is a pretty good field to work in, I have been doing it for almost twelve years now. I think some of the other Engineering disciplines might be more lucrative as far as salary goes. But is it a good field either way. Stick with it mang, it will be worth it down the road.:2thumbup:
