well, i heard that after a thousand miles a timing chain strecthes, and are not that good anymore so you still would lose power anyways. right?

I have never had any problems running a timing chain.I've asked the guys that build my engines if they run them. They said no for the reasons I stated. Are you staying FI?

I'm still running Fuel Injected. I was reading this book "Engine Blueprinting" or a mustang performance book laying around somewhere, and it says that after 1k miles timing chains aren't good. Thats why I asked if gear drives were better.

Also I had read somewhere that the valvetrain recieves unwanted harmonics from the lower end with a gear drive. The timing chain doesn't have that problem. Most of the guys I know running circle track run timing chains. They have to be doing something right for longevity reasons.

Most of the guys I know running circle track aren't allowed to run gear drives, they are against the rule book. Whether or not they are illegal because they add power, I'm not sure...

I think they sound bad ass, btw! They sound kind of like todd's supercharged T5! (or ex-supercharged T5)

I've heard them before...They are more of a true hot rod type of deal(32 coupe, T-bucket, etc..).

I would never put them on a newer car, no sense in it..
