my AOD blew up on the dyno, anyone ever seen this happen?

yep... on a '66 w/ nitrous.. but it was a c-4... tailshaft snagged on the tailhousing, spun it 180 degrees, broke the motor mount and shoved the motor through the radiator.. also cracked the block in the process

Noticed all the grinding done by the starter on the ring gear. That would throw it off balance as well....

that wasnt vibration that was a horrible lock up internaly to do that much damage that fast.
notice the cracks are all clean and the same color that means the crack did not devlop over time or the part that wasnt fresh would be dark almost black from dirt and stuff getting in it over time and as you got closer to the new crak it would start to get cleaner and cleaner. that happend prety much all at the same time. Most likely the direct drive dum exploded or sun shell or the plantary exploded and locked the transmission up for a split second there by transfering all that power into the case trying to twist it. OR something in the valve body took a dump and apllied the reverse gear .. did it haved a transbrake ? acitendly hiting the trans brake wile the car is under power and already moving can cause just such a blow up .
