Anyone good with paint???

Anyone in here good with painting a car, blending and all... I need to try to see if I can find someone to touch up my door where it got keyed a couple of years ago... I don't want to go to a "shop" cause when I looked in california, the quotes I got were $900-1300 ... :thumbdown So if anyone has a connection they can help me with, or is an experienced painter... I'd be willing to pay a reasonable amount, or owe a favor (I'm mechanically inclined) :jeff: ... I need to get my baby without the big scratch again!!!

holy shit I paint entire cars for that price I would need a couple pics of the car, the paint code, and a time you can drive and spend a day in Houston(just hang out at my place if you want). Done and out the door I would do it for $200 but you would have to get it wet sanded and buffed once you get back to SA. any good detail shop will know how to do it and do it right for about $50-$75 the only reason I wouldn't be able to do it is because the clear has to cure for a min. of three days before I can wet sand it. However none of the cars I have painted have even had to get wetsanded the owners were more than happy with the turnout.

Just let me know what you would want to do. Thanks, hope this helps.

Try Jacks Paint Place in converse, he gives free estimates. He is the only shop I trust. He repainted (blended) my drivers door and quarter panel for under 500.00. :jeff:

Yeah, 1QuickGT's work is really solid!!! I have seen his mustang, no drips, pot marks, nothing, though it still hadn't been wet sanded yet, it still looked really solid :jeff:

he brought the post up to show that I painted cars for what this guy was going to pay for a fix alone.

Now mind you at the time I was doing work that inexpensive I had no employee's, 1/3 of the cost for my building, was also working full time to support myself and my family and so on and on.

I now ONLY do work that cheap on weekend worrier cars that get crashed EVERY weekend. I am still alot less than almost any other shop out there though.

Just don't ask for a 10k paint job and expect it for nothing I guess is the point here.
