anyone know good traffic lawyers in SA??

SAPD got me for 79 in a 65 today.

:thumbdown to me for speeding. I cant let this go on my insurance and raise my rates!! i dont think im eligible for defensive driving b/c i took it around this time last year to take care of a speeding ticket (SAPD again). I was thinking about getting a traffic lawyer to try and get the ticket dismissed or go to court and ask for deferred adjudication. I cant afford to let my rates go up or pay a whole lot of money with gas prices so high and just after paying tuition and books. anyone have any suggestions to offer??

lawyers are easier to deal with than going to court. or you can take dd, once every 12 months.

He's right, usually the cost for a lawyer to get it dismissed is usually a tad bit more than what you would have paid if you just went and paid the fine. If indeed you aren't eligible for DD then I'd go with the probation.

if i go before the judge and ask for probation and he denies it, can I still get a lawyer and try to get it dismissed??

and when I do go ask for probation, should I simply ask for probation, or saying something like
"I come before you, Judge, to ask for probation. As a college student, i dont have much extra money to spend. since I just payed tuition/books and with rising gas prices, I simply cannot afford to have my insurance rates go up. I made a mistake by speeding and am willing to admit that I broke the law. I hope you understand and grant me my request."

not exactly that...but along those lines...??

It could end up being cheaper to go to court and talk to the judge, but to me, time is money, and going downtown sucks balls so I'd rather sit at my desk and call a lawyer's office.

Same here. They mail out stuff to you just wait a few days. They get a daily list from sapd and send out letters. I last paid a little LESS than the fine on the ticket for mine and got 60 days probation that just enede 8-31.WooHoo.
