Anyone running a E303 & Ped Mount RR's?

If so do you have any valve train noise? I have a knocking/clicking noise coming from my valve train & want to know if it is normal. The tech at ford racing said that it was normal with the cam & rockers that I am running.

pedestal RR's are louder than stock rockers. if you just upgraded and are wondering if its normal, it is. if you want to be sure, loosen and reinstall the rockers. improper lifter preload can produce more chatter...

My engine builder said that the shims under the rockers needed to be replaced with thinner one's so I had my mech do it & it helped a little but there is still chatter. I'm running stock heads, E303 & FMS 1.6 RR's

if you had someone who knows what they're doing re-shim the rockers and get the correct preload, thats the best you can ask for. roller rockers are just naturally louder than stock ones. is there any associated performance drop with this noise, or is it only the noise thats bothering you? performance decreases are a whole other ballpark; that would mean trying to figure out whats broken..

one other thing, is it an individual knock/click, or do they all do it? trying to differentiate between valve chatter (needs a valve job) and rocker chatter shouldnt be hard. a bad valve will be much louder and more pronounced. just making sure what you're hearing is rocker chatter, not something else.

Its pretty normal . Some are louder than others and replacing the lifters with new ones help a little . I personally wouldn't worry too much about it .

Yea thats pretty loud. On my friends car, if you close the hood, you can't hear them make noise. What brand of rocker arms are you running?
