There are actually quite a few mustangs with those stripes. I've seen several in my hometown with the stripes that have "GT" in them. Those are "Spring Edition" mustangs, and were built in 99-00.

Pretty sure those stripes were offered on a factory package. The underchin however was not part of it.

$13,500 does feel a little steep to me but, I am looking for a '99 with low miles that I can use as my daily driver (if needed) and a project car.

Nah, Camaro guy is right, its the spring edition. When I bought my 2000 I looked at them and it was a factory stripe job on a limited edition "spring edition" car

I think I am going to keep my eyes open. I just Spied a '99 cobra with low miles, (45K) for only about a grand more. I also have seen a 2001 "blue" Bullitt for the same price and less miles. Just saw both of those today.

werd.

Not all of them with those hood stripes are aftermarket. some are factory "spring edition"

I've seen quite a few stangs with those stripes. I would keep shopping. I bought my 03 with 70k miles for just under $12k.
Try looking at dealerships who don't normally deal with Mustangs... I bought mine from a VW dealership.

There's a nice Bullitt in the classifieds, for a pretty good price...

FS: 2001 Bullitt

my advice is to take your time man, i had a buddy that found an 03 mach 1 with only 30,000 miles on it...and he paid 14000 for it, clear title, no dents scratches or dings, it was perfect......you can find any vehicle at any price that you want. you just have to look for it. dont rush it man find what you absolutely want and be sure, then spend the money getting what you really want

yeah - definitely take your time - the price is pretty steep for that 99 - regardless of the miles it's still a 99 - be patient - mustangs are a dime a dozen - I'd hold off from that one - you might get lucky and score a bone stock white 99GT for 6k from a mid 30 year old female quality engineer from boeing like me.
