AOD problems on a 90 GT

Don(2K4mk1) and I just removed and replaced my tranny with a rebuilt AOD tranny on saturday and all is well except when i have the gear selector in overdrive it will go thru 2 gears and then it stops there and feels like im in neutral and wont go to next gear also the first two gears it goes through it feels like they are going through way to soon even at low speeds .
Could the cause of this be the throttle valve cable needing adjustment or the shift linkage needing to be adjusted?????Or does it sound like I got taken for a ride on the rebuilt tranny???

Any advice will be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance for any advice!!!!!

Take it to a good trans shop, not Amco they will get you. You need to remove a plug from the side of the trans, install a pressure guage, then adjust the TV cable, after making sure the shift cable is adjusted correctly. The AODs can burn up with just a few shifts with the TV cable out of adjustment. From what you are saying I would say the trans has already lost at least one gear. AODs are not good transmissions for anyone other than an experianced transmission man with the proper tools to work on. Most everyone will recomend replacing it with a T5, your car will be faster and more reliable.

The car is still street driven, with a best of 10.21 at 131 mph with a 1.51 60' spinning lightly. With this combo it made a best of 460 hp and 410 lbs of torque at the wheels.

Not with autos ........... the AOD transmissions are junk unless you spend some big $$$ on one .
