At the track (Kawasaki)

Well, as the timeslips indicate, I'm still scared of first gear, especially since I know the bike will act different on the track than on the street.

My 60's were horrible

I know I could get low 8s maybe high 7s if I could launch. I'm just scared I'll wheelie up.

Practice that launching. I think you would be able to see a 2.2 or 2.1 and that should help you with your time alot.

You gotta slip the clutch a little in first to control it.

rev to higher rpms before you launch and slowly release the clutch....once the rpms start to drop you can give it more gas and release the clutch faster...

Hahahha. That reminds me of a time a raced a buddy of mines 02 or 03 R6 against a 939 or something. It was a Kawasaki 900. I made it one hell of a close race. Losing to him by .1 or .2. Not bad for a bike I never rode before. I run faster times on my dad's bike than he has. lol

I wanted to take the new bike to the track last night and meet up with Nazman but got too busy with other things.

Next time anybody goes to the track with a bike lemme know. I can head out on mine.

I ran my 929 at SAR a couple years ago and learned that launching a bike was a lot harder on the clutch that I was comfortable with.

I'd rev to 5500 and slip passed the 60 and just let it go. The front would lift a tad but still was ok. Not too sure how the K-ZR's performance is, but slipping at a lower RPM like mentioned, 4k-4500rpm would be fine.
